I hit the hay about 12:30 am - almost 30 hours since leaving Seattle - and was out like a light until 9:40 the next morning ! I was feeling kind of bad for sleeping in until the Lord gave me an excuse- Seattle is 3 hours behind so it was only 6:30 am there!

This area is beautiful, tropical and lush!  It is not only a great place for humans, but God has also provided a great place for bugs, mosquitos and noseeums.  I am trying to find a way to make friends with them so that we won't become antagonists!

We are getting camp ready for folks before the conference starts Sunday evening. They are trying to renovate an old retreat site and they have put in a pool recently- but the owner, a man about my age, died six months ago of Covid. His wife is trying to move ahead but it is difficult and there is a lot of work to do. The water is not potable, so it has to be boiled, and the plumbing all leaks, etc. But I hope, by the time we leave,  we can all pitch in and make it better than what it was when we came!

Another bright spot- I was concerned about how I could adjust to the mandated two minute showers, but the Lord has made provision for everything- there is no hot water, so I think two minutes will be plenty of time! It is always fun, being where God wants you, even if things are a bit challenging... We checked in with the airlines today and they still don't have our bags... I bought some toothpaste but that doesn't cover all the bases! This is supposed to be a bootcamp- it seems like we are just starting a little early!

P.S. I have also not been able to shower since I left home because my towels are in my missing suitcase!  After 3 days, fish and old men... but one of the brothers gave me his huge towel and then brought in a pair of pants and clean shirt for tomorrow, so I had my first cold shower tonight and I’m all fresh and clean again!  What an amazing gift!

Jerry ,
Sounds like book camp. My thoughts for you to get your luggage.. Cold showers would be short. So glad you have fresh clean clothes. I know with your servant heart you will make thinks better. Your encouragement will spread to the others. Marilyn
