First of all,we just wanted to say thank you for all of your love, support, and prayers as we begin our journey!
We will be excited to share with you here on the BLOG as God's beautiful plans for the trip unfold and it has been fun to watch Him in action already!

Our dear friends, Steve and Barb Carlson got us to the airport this morning  to begin our Mission Trip to Ukraine 3 hours early. That sounded like plenty of time - we had our passports, vaccination cards and a freshly minted Negative Covid Test to demonstrate we were healthy travelers. The airline website affirmed we just needed that updated test 3 days before departure to be all set. But while we were checking in, they refused to process our reservation - apparently going through Amsterdam requires an upgraded test that we knew nothing about and they require that test not 3 days before departure but 3 days before arrival. Our Covid tests were invalid!

We hurried upstairs above the ticket counters to a rapid testing site and discovered it would cost over $300 each and take almost an hour to get our results back.  The agent downstairs said that the computer locks out any passengers who arrive to check in later than one hour before departure - so with a 1:35 departure, we had to be back down at the counter with negative tests by 12:35. At 12:30, the testing agent said the results would be available in 3 minutes. So I left the Mezzanne floor and hustled down to Sue who was stationed near the ticket counter and we got to the agent at 12:34 - our phones dinged and reported the tests were successful - exactly at 12:35pm.

I think our faithful, loving God is getting us ready for an exciting ride- we hope that your seatbelts are fastened!

In His love, jerry and sue

Thank God you landed safely. We can check that one off for now.
And Thank God He rescued you to the minute. That's wild. We can check than one off too.
Kevin cinched our seatbelts as long as you let God drive. So, another check.
