It may be tempting to think that we are just doing something nice for kids in Africa.  The Lord made it abundantly clear this trip and then gave a dramatic vision during one of my prayer times before I left...that Salt and Light is not just doing a 'nice' thing, many of these kids are alive because they have food to eat!  And each one, each one, was created for an eternal purpose!  Their lives ought not to be cut short...

It's impossible to convey through pictures, the reality of life in this rural village …. but I will pray that somehow through the photoa below, your hearts will be touched as mine was... and you will be able to see through Jesus' eyes...
You'll notice Esther and some of the older boys who were serving. It is an honor to serve.
You'll also see kids waiting for the first graders to finish getting their lunch and with the picture of the girl holding her plate of food, I wondered how this little girl could eat all this? It was no problem, but smiling comes hard when your hungry and can't ever trust that what happened today will happen again tomorrow!
Pastor Jerry is having fun with some of the girls while they are waiting for lunch.
The rice bag is 50 lbs. that they use each meal. Each cup is precious...
One of the pictures shows some of the older cool guys who have to go last for lunch- many of their "dreams" start with owning a pair of shoes someday.
